Good Afternoon dear Biology Boys.
I am Mrs. V. Chauhan who will teach you all Biology for two years.
Since it is a virtual platform so formal introduction is not possible, but I urge each of you to kindly mark your attendance in the comment area by :-
1.Writing your Name &
2. Telling about Why you took Bio as one of your main subject.
Today we will achieve the following Learning Outcomes through this blog :-
Students will be able to:-
1. Understand how CBSE syllabus for class 11 is divided.
2. Know "What chapters will be included in The first UNIT TEST ".
3. Follow the instructions for class work registers & Practical files.
4. Analyse & Interpretation the Quiz based on Cell the Unit of Life.
This blog will be divided into two sections.
The first section shall cover the first 3 learning outcomes.
Section -2 shall cover your fourth Learning Outcome.
SECTION -1
We use NCERT volume 1 for Biology class 11.
You can download NCERT books online from the following Link
http://www.ncert.online
I usually don't want you to buy reference book because NCERT is only required for class 11.But if you still want to use the reference book then refer the following book.
For your PERIODIC TEST 1( PA 1)
a. The test will be for 40 marks.
b. Time given to write this will be 1hr20mins.
c. Course to Complete :-
* Cell : The Unit of Life.
* The Living World.
* Biological Classification.
The dates for PA 1 will be announced by the school soon. So you all will be looped in.
GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS :-
1.We will use one long Register for Biology Class work.
Since due to Lock down I assume most of you will not have a new register to work in, I would expect you to start with notes preparation in your class 10 Science Notebooks for time being. You can tear the sheets & staple to your class work register once the Lockdown opens.
2. For Practical Files, we will use loose interleaf file sheets.
You will get a separate cardboard file with loose interleaf sheets for Biology practical file in your class 11 books set. Further information about practical will be given to you on Day 5 during practical periods.
3. Your attendance will be regularly send to Mr. Chopra on daily basis, kindly always mark your present by writing in your name. Otherwise your parents will be called to office for clarifications.
4. Since Class 11 Biology Syllabus is very vast, so you have to keep up with me. Otherwise you will face problems in the end because in the FINAL EXAM you will have full book to study.
5. You can ask your doubts on blogs itself.
6. If I give you any written assignment then you will have to email me your snapshots of written work on what ever deadline I set for it.

Today we will start with chapter 8 Cell : The Unit of life.
Since this chapter has been the very basis of Biology & you studied it in details in Class 8 & Class 9. Why not check how much we remember it.
I will give you certain questions , whose answers you have to email it to me by 1.15pm on " Vijayata.chauhan@gmail.com
REVISION TEST
Answer the questions according to the marks :-
1. Who discovered nucleus on the cell? (1)
2.Cell Theory was proposed by which scientist? (1)
3. To which of the substances does Robert Hooke sees the resemblance of slice of the cork from a tree ? (1)
4. Which scientist coined the term Protoplasm? (1)
5. Name the smallest & the largest cell in Human Body? (1)
6. Why is Virus an exception to Cell Theory? (2)
7. Differentiate between prokaryotic & Eukaryotic cells ( Give 6 points each) (3 )
